The Opel Kadett E model (Opel Kadett E) succeeded Opel Kadett D. Was issued 1984 — 1991 from which the version a cabriolet till 1993.1984, September — production of 3-and 5-door hatchbacks Opel Kadett E is begun;

1991, August — production Opel Kadett E (except for the version a cabriolet) in favor of model Opel Astra F (Opel Astra F) is phased down;

Opel Kadett E won the title "The Car of 1985 in Europe".
Modifications of a body 4-door sedan; 3-and 5-door versatile person (also known as Opel Kadett Karavan); 3-and 5-door хэчбек; 2-door cabriolet; "heel" minivan. In 1987 the Korean firm Daewoo began production according to the license of model Kadett's Opel E under the name Daewoo Racer which held on on the conveyor till 1995. Subsequently on Opel base of Kadett E the new model — Daewoo Nexia was developed.
In 1992 GM made the decision to unify designations of models of the European market therefore the historical name Kadett for the next generation (Kadett F) was replaced with Opel Astra borrowed the similar British Vauxhall Astra model.
