3.1.3. Frequency of service
In order that your car was in a fine state, it is necessary to carry out its maintenance periodically. Service needs to be carried out as it is constant, and through certain intervals which are given below. These are the minimum intervals of service recommended by the Management.If the car is operated under trying conditions, in particular, in the dusty area, with towage of the trailer at small speeds or on short trips, it is recommended to make maintenance more often.
If the order of maintenance was not observed a long time, then the checks described below and adjustments should be carried out more often or as required. Especially it concerns the engine of the used car which was not exposed to regular or timely checks.
In such cases, besides periodic maintenance, it is necessary to perform additional adjustment works. If there are suspicions on wear of the engine, then it is necessary to check a compression in cylinders and to obtain valuable information concerning a condition of all main details of the diesel. On the basis of these data it is possible to gain an impression about the volume and degree of complexity of the forthcoming works. If, for example, a compression such is that obviously indicates strong wear of the engine, then routine maintenance will not lead to restoration of normal operational qualities and it is necessary to execute capital repairs with full dismantling.
Weekly or each 400 km
Check the following elements:
– oil level in the engine;
– level of cooling liquid;
– level of brake fluid;
– availability of water in a windscreen washer tank;
– condition of the accumulator, tires, screen wipers and all bulbs.
Each 15 000 km or 6 months (that will come earlier)
Replace oil and an oil filter (petrol engines, till 1987).
Each 15 000 km or 12 months (that will come earlier)
Replace engine oil and an oil filter.
Replace spark plugs.
Check, and if necessary, adjust gaps of valves (model of 1,2 l).
Check a condition of hoses and lack of leaks.
Check a condition of an auxiliary driving belt and, if necessary, replace it.
Check elements of system of ignition and replace contacts of the breaker of ignition.
Check, and if necessary, adjust turns of idling and maintenance WITH.
Clear the filter of the fuel pump (model with the carburetor).
Check regulation of a cable of an accelerator.
Check the level of transmission liquids.
Check action of a sound signal, all fires, screen wipers and washers.
Check a condition of brushes of a screen wiper.
Check reliability of tightening of bolts of fastening of a wheel.
Check a condition of lobbies and back brake shoes (replace if it is necessary), supports and brake disks.
Check adjustment of bearings of a back wheel.
Check adjustment of the emergency brake.
Check a condition of power shafts, hinges of equal angular speeds and protective covers of hinges.
Grease locks and hinges.
Check a condition of the exhaust system.
Carry out road tests of the car.
Each 30 000 km or the 12th month (that will come earlier)
In addition to all points stated above execute in addition:
Replace the filtering element of the air filter.
Replace the fuel filter (models with system of injection of fuel).
Clear the entrance fuel filter of the carburetor.
Check oil level in the mechanical transmission.
Check coupling adjustment.
Check a condition of back brake shoes (replace if necessary), working brake cylinders and brake drums.
Replace brake fluid.
Check adjustment of light of headlights.
Each 2 years (irrespective of run distance in kilometers)
Each 60 000 km or 4 years (that will come earlier)
In addition to all points stated above execute the following:
Replace transmission liquid in the automatic transmission.
Replace a gear belt of the drive of the camshaft (liter engines 1,3, 1,4, 1,6, 1,8 and 2,0 with 8 valves, engines 2,0 liters with 16 valves).
Each 90 000 km or 3 years (that will come earlier)
In addition to all points stated above replace consolidations and hoses of the brake system.
