11:16. Check, removal and installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes
The vacuum amplifier of brakes reduces effort on a brake pedal, facilitating thereby driving. Operation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes is based on use of depression in an inlet collector. At an exit of the vacuum amplifier out of operation operability of the brake system is not broken, but for pressing of a pedal of a brake it is necessary to make considerably bigger effort.

| 1. Press a brake pedal several times at the idle engine to create in cavities of the vacuum amplifier identical pressure close to atmospheric. |
| 2. At the same time determine by the effort enclosed to a pedal whether there is no jamming of the case of the valve. |
| 3. Stop a brake pedal in the middle of its course and start the engine. |
| 4. At the serviceable vacuum amplifier the brake pedal after start of the engine has to leave forward. |
| 5. If the pedal does not leave forward, check fastening of a tip of a hose, connection of fastening of a flange of a tip in the amplifier, a condition of a hose and the union. |
| 6. On cars with diesel engines check operability of the vacuum pump. |

Removal

| Cars for right-hand traffic |
| 1. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the vacuum amplifier of brakes. |
| 2. Unscrew the nuts fixing the main brake cylinder to the vacuum amplifier of brakes. |
| 3. Remove the main brake cylinder from racks of the vacuum amplifier of brakes and move forward, without deforming at the same time brake tubes. |
| 4. In interior of the car remove the switch of stoplights from a brake pedal arm. |
| 5. Remove a spring bracket from the hinged finger fixing a fork of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to a brake pedal. |
| 6. Remove a hinged finger. |
| 7. Remove the fairing located in the lower part of a windshield then remove screen wiper levers, the engine and drafts of a screen wiper. |
| 8. Remove two caps closing bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes. |
|
9. Using a face key, unscrew bolts and remove the vacuum amplifier from a partition of a motor compartment. |
|
10. If access to bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier is complicated, it is possible to unscrew four nuts of fastening of an arm of the vacuum amplifier to a partition of a motor compartment. |
| 11. Remove the vacuum amplifier of brakes from the car. |
| Cars for left-hand traffic |
| 12. Operations on removal of the vacuum amplifier of brakes are similar stated above. |

13. Turn off three nuts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes on cars with left-hand traffic. |
|
14. For access to the lower nut of fastening of the vacuum amplifier without removal of steering transfer it is necessary to use a key with adapters. |

Installation

| 1. At installation of the new vacuum amplifier of brakes rearrange on him with old a collar and a lock-nut. |
| 2. Before installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes check rod length with a fork. |
|

3. Measure distance And from an end face of the case of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to the center of an opening in a fork which has to make 278,5 mm. |
| 4. Further installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments. |

5. If the vacuum amplifier of brakes acted from an arm, establish it on sealant. |
|
6. Check that the place for connection of a vacuum hose (it is specified by an arrow) is in required position. |
| 7. For fastening use new самоконтрящиеся nuts. |
