6.1.7. Removal and installation of the fuel tank

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Through a fuel-filling mouth pump out fuel from the fuel tank.
3. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports.
Prevention

It is undesirable to remove the fuel tank on the car installed over a viewing hole as in a viewing hole fuel vapors accumulate that can cause damage to health.
Hatchback and Sedan models
4. Remove the exhaust system.
5. Measure length of the carving core which is coming out from the compensator of cables of the emergency brake.
6. Flat-nose pliers record a cable of the emergency brake from a provorachivaniye, unscrew the nut fixing the compensator and remove the compensator from a carving core.
7. Remove a clamp and disconnect a cable from the draft located in a back part of the lever of the emergency brake.
8. Exempt a cable of the emergency brake from clamps on the fuel tank and the bottom of the car and move it from the fuel tank aside.
9. Disconnect electric wires from the fuel level sensor.
10. Unscrew the bolt fixing a pipe of a fuel-filling mouth to the car bottom.
11. Weaken collars and remove a hose from a pipe of a fuel-filling mouth.
12. Support by a jack through wooden whetstone the fuel tank.
13. Unscrew nuts (the nut is specified by an arrow), the fixing belts supporting the fuel tank then take off belts and lower a tank so that it was possible to disconnect the remained hoses of ventilation of the fuel tank.
14. Lower the fuel tank and take it from under the right side of the car.
15. Visually check a condition of the fuel tank outside.
16. If in the fuel tank there is a deposit or water, remove the fuel level sensor and wash out the fuel tank a large amount of pure fuel. In the presence on the fuel tank of mechanical damages restore the fuel tank in a specialized workshop or replace it.
Prevention

Do not restore the fuel tank independently with application of welding or the soldering as in a tank there are fuel vapors which are explosive.
Station wagon and Van models
17. Removal of the fuel tank is made similarly taking into account the next moments.
18. It is necessary to unscrew a fuel-filling pipe (in the drawing the arrangement of screws of fastening of a fuel-filling pipe on the Station wagon models is shown).
19. It is not required to disconnect a cable of the emergency brake and to remove the exhaust system.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal. If necessary replace collars and hoses, adjust a cable of the emergency brake.
