4.4.7. Removal and installation of a head of the block of cylinders

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Merge cooling liquid.
3. Remove the air conditioner.
4. Disconnect a ventilating hose and uncover a head of the block of cylinders. Disconnect a ventilating hose from the camshaft case.
5. Remove the vacuum pump.
6. Disconnect the top hose of a radiator, a hose of a heater and a hose of cooling liquid from a head of the block of cylinders.
7. Disconnect a wire from the temperature sensor of the thermostat.
8. Disconnect fuel tubes from fuel nozzles and from the fuel pump. Disconnect a fuel return tube.
9. Disconnect a wire from the electric tire of candles of an incandescence.
10. Take off a driving belt of the generator and a belt of the pump of system of the hydraulic amplifier of steering.
11. Remove casings of a gear belt and the lower cover of coupling and a flywheel. Install the piston of the first cylinder in VMT and take off a gas-distributing belt from a camshaft pulley. Block the camshaft.
12. Disconnect a reception exhaust pipe from a final collector and from an arm. Remove a pipe.
13. Weaken all bolts of a head of the block of cylinders on a quarter of a turn in the spiral sequence. In the same sequence weaken all bolts on a half of a turn. Unscrew bolts completely. At installation it is necessary to use new bolts.
14. Remove a thermostat casing.
15. Remove the case of the camshaft and the camshaft.
16. Remove pushers of valves (the drawing at the left) and persistent linings (an arrow in the drawing on the right).
17. Remove hydraulic pushers. Put hydraulic pushers in the capacity filled with engine oil.
18. Remove a head of the block of cylinders together with collectors.
19. Carefully clear and examine the interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish new laying of a head of the block of cylinders. Thickness of laying is determined by piston vystupaniye height. Depending on thickness of laying have special marking – cuts.
2. The inscription OBEN/TOP on the surface of laying has to be turned up.
3. Install a head on the block of cylinders.
4. Establish hydraulic pushers, persistent linings and pushers.
5. Apply sealant (GM 1503166) on the interfaced surfaces of the case of the camshaft and a head of the block of cylinders and install the case on a head.
6. Insert new bolts of a head of the block of cylinders and tighten them in the spiral sequence until tightening of the first step.
7. Tighten bolts in the same sequence according to steps 2, 3 and 4 (see subsection 4.4.1).
8. Establish the remained details. Start and warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature, switch off it and tighten head bolts on the corner specified in a step 5 (see subsection 4.4.1).
9. Approximately through 1000 km tighten head bolts on a corner of a step 6 (see subsection 4.4.1).
