6.1.4. System of adjustment of temperature of the air coming to the engine
MODELS OF 1,2 L
Temperature of the air coming to the engine is run manually by the gate located in the case of the air filter. The gate depending on seasonal temperature can be installed in one of three provisions:
– summer situation – is above 10 °C;
– an intermediate position – 10 °C – -5 °C;
– winter situation – less than -5 °C.
Operation of the engine will be more effective at installation of the gate in summer situation and the least effective gate in winter situation. If the engine works normally and keeps the dynamic characteristics, summer position of the gate can be kept up to the temperature of 0 °C. If the engine begins to work unstably, move the gate to the following provision.
Provisions of the gate are specified on a cover. In winter position of the gate only the air which is warmed up by a final collector comes to the engine. In summer position of the gate only fresh air from an air inlet comes to the engine. In an intermediate position of the gate both fresh air, and the air which is warmed up by a final collector comes to the engine.
MODELS 1,3, 1,4 and 1,6 L
The block of adjustment of temperature of the air coming to the engine maintains optimum air temperature for combustion of fuel with the minimum quantity of emissions of harmful substances.
Optimum temperature of the air given to the engine is reached by mixing of the fresh cold air arriving from an air inlet on the forward party of the car with the air which is warmed up by an inlet collector. The proportion of the warmed-up and cold air is regulated by the provision of a folding shutter in the block in front of the air filter. The block of adjustment is operated either a vacuum diaphragm or the wax capsule. The vacuum diaphragm is run by temperature sensor located in the case of the air filter.
