3.1.3.1.4. Check and replacement of auxiliary driving belts
DRIVING BELT OF THE GENERATOR
The term of its service depends on the correct tension of an auxiliary driving belt. However do not draw an auxiliary driving belt as in this case generator bearings can fail.

| 1. You make check of a condition of a belt on all its length. With wear, a razlokhmachivaniye or cracks it is necessary to replace a belt. It is desirable to have a spare driving belt of the corresponding type in the car. |
| 2. The tension of a belt is considered correct if when pressing by a hand thumb on the middle of the longest branch of a belt the deflection of a belt makes 13 mm. |
| 3. For adjustment weaken the top nut of fastening of the generator and a bolt of fastening of an arm. Using wooden whetstone, wring out the generator from the engine and adjust a tension of an auxiliary driving belt. After adjustment of a tension tighten the top nut of fastening of the generator and a bolt of fastening of an arm. |

| 1. Weaken a nut of the top fastening of the generator and a bolt, the fixing arm, then, moving the generator to the engine, weaken a tension of an auxiliary driving belt and remove it from pulleys. On models with the amplifier of steering first of all it is necessary to take off a driving belt of the pump of the amplifier of steering. |
| 2. Establish an auxiliary driving belt on pulleys and adjust its tension. At installation of a new auxiliary belt repeatedly adjust its tension in 5 minutes of operation of the engine. |

DRIVING BELT OF THE PUMP OF THE AMPLIFIER OF STEERING

| 3. For adjustment of a tension of a belt weaken the lock-nut of an adjusting bolt located on the basis of the pump and, rotating a regulator nut, adjust a belt tension. Tighten a lock-nut. |

| 1. Weaken a lock-nut, then completely unscrew an adjusting nut and take off a driving belt from pulleys. |
| 2. Establish an auxiliary driving belt and adjust its tension. At installation of a new auxiliary belt repeatedly adjust its tension after 5 minutes of operation of the engine. |

DRIVING BELT OF THE PUMP OF THE AMPLIFIER OF STEERING MANAGEMENT / GENERATOR ON LATE MODELS OF 1,6 L
Since March, 1987 one belt for the drive of the generator and the pump of the amplifier of steering on engines of 1,6 l is used. The used flat driving belt with ribs has higher tension.
For adjustment of a tension of an auxiliary driving belt it is necessary to use an adapter.

Check and adjustment
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Weaken a point of turn of the generator and adjusting bolts of a belt and establish an adapter. |
| 2. Using a dynamometer key, tighten an adjusting bolt the moment of 55 Nanometers for a new belt or 50 Nanometers for the belt which was in the use. |
| 3. Holding a belt in this situation, tighten bolts of fastening of the generator. |

Replacement
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. For removal of a belt weaken a point of turn of the generator and bolts and take off a driving belt from pulleys. |
| 2. Establish a driving belt and adjust its tension. At installation of a new wire belt repeatedly adjust its tension after 5 minutes of operation of the engine. |
