6.1.14. Repair of the carburetor

Prevention

If the carburetor demands capital repairs, it is economically more favorable to replace the carburetor. It is usually necessary to disassemble the carburetor for cleaning of jets and channels of the carburetor.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the carburetor from the engine.
2. Using suitable solvent or gasoline, clear the external surface of the carburetor and dry up it. Prepare a pure workplace.
3. Remove a returnable spring of a butterfly valve from draft and an arm sideways of the carburetor.
4. Disconnect a vacuum hose from a branch pipe of the vacuum chamber located on the case of butterfly valves.
5. Unscrew 4 screws (are specified by shooters) fastenings of a cover of the carburetor.
6. Uncover the carburetor the carburetor.
7. In the basis of the carburetor unscrew the screw (it is specified by an arrow), the fixing case of the air gate to the case of the float-operated camera, and divide cases.
8. Unscrew the screw, the fixing arm of support of a cable of control of the air gate to the case of the air gate and remove it (see rice. Arrangement of the screw of fastening of an arm of support of a cable of control of the air gate, caps, screw of adjustment of quality of mix and turns of idling). Release a clamp and take a sealing ring from a casing.
9. Screw in against the stop screws of adjustment of quality of fuel mix and turns of idling, but at the same time count quantity of turns of screws, then unscrew screws completely.
10. Unscrew four screws and uncover diaphragms of the accelerating pump and a spring the case of the float-operated camera.
11. On the other side of the case of the float-operated camera unscrew three screws and uncover diaphragms of the mechanism of enrichment and a spring.
12. Take a spray from a casing.
13. Using a drift, beat out a rotary axis of floats (it is specified by shooters) and, using flat-nose pliers, take it from a nest.
14. Remove floats and laying of a cover of the carburetor.
15. Remove the needle valve of the carburetor, then unscrew the main jet (it is specified by an arrow).
16. Note an arrangement and unscrew all jets and caps from a carburetor cover (see rice. An arrangement in a cover of the carburetor of caps, a jet of idling, an additional air jet and a jet of fuel mix). Unscrew an emulsion tube from an opening of an additional air jet.
17. Take the main spray from the diffuser.
18. Unscrew a stopper and take the fuel filter located adjacently with a fuel supply branch pipe.
19. If necessary remove from the top cover of the carburetor the vacuum chamber together with the draft operating the air gate.
20. Remove a cam and a spring, disconnect draft from a cam and the lever of the drive of the air gate and remove knot in collecting (And – screws of draft of the gate, In – spring brackets).
21. Clear carburetor details in gasoline and blow them compressed air.
22. Blow compressed air all jets and channels in the carburetor, but at the same time do not use a wire.
23. Check a condition of all axes and drafts for existence of wear and the increased gap. With defects replace worn-out details.
24. Check a condition of diaphragms and replace them in the presence of punctures and pollution.
25. Check a state and tightness of a float. If in a float there is a fuel, replace it.
26. Blowing the needle valve, check its tightness in a closed position. In the absence of tightness replace the needle valve.
27. Collect the carburetor in the sequence, the return dismantling, and make the main adjustments of the carburetor.
28. Check height of installation of a float and, if necessary, turning in the lever, establish the required height (And – the place of measurement of height of installation of a float, In – the place for adjustment of height of installation of a float).
29. Install the carburetor on the car and adjust turns of idling and quality of fuel mix.
