4.4.5. Check, removal, installation and adjustment of a gear belt
Prevention
Surely replace the damaged gear belt.
Besides a camshaft pulley the gear belt rotates also pulleys of water and fuel pumps.

Removal
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Remove casings of a gear belt and a pulley of a bent shaft. |
| 2. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator. |

3. In the lower part of a case of the transmission uncover a flywheel and coupling. |
| 4. To install the piston No. 1 in VMT, turn a bent shaft clockwise and combine an adjusting tag on a pulley of the fuel pump with the corresponding index on a pump arm. |

5. Check that the adjusting tag (A) of a flywheel was combined with the index (V) on a coupling case. |
| 6. Remove the vacuum pump and block the camshaft by means of the special tool (KM-537). If you do not have this tool or it cannot be established, make marks in a pulley of the camshaft and a back casing of a gear belt. |

7. Weaken bolts of fastening of the water pump (are specified by shooters) and turn the pump to weaken a tension of a gas-distributing belt. |
| 8. Remove a forward support of the engine. |
| 9. Make the tag specifying the direction of its rotation on a belt. |
| 10. Take off a gear belt. |

Installation

|
1. Put on a belt pulleys. Check that the piston of the first cylinder was in VMT, and adjusting tags of pulleys of the fuel pump and a flywheel were combined with the corresponding indexes. |
| 2. Turn the water pump to pull a gear belt, and tighten bolts of fastening of the pump. |
| 3. Remove the tool for blocking of the camshaft and establish a pulley of a bent shaft. |
