2.14. Tires and check of pressure in tires

Tires are the only parts of the car which constantly are in contact with the road. Even the total contact surface of all tires – small. Therefore it is regularly necessary to carry out a careful inspection of tires as both own safety, and safety of other participants in traffic to a large extent depends on a condition of tires.

Continuous check of a condition of tires gives the chance in due time to find intensive wear and to remove its cause that will allow to avoid more serious consequences.

With uneven wear of tires it is necessary to find the reason of it and to eliminate it.

Check tires for existence of cuts, punctures and foreign objects in tires. Places of leak of air from the tire can be defined by soapsuds.

Carefully survey internal lateral face of each tire on existence of traces of brake fluid.

The required pressure in tires prolongs the term of its service therefore it needs to be checked regularly. You make control of pressure in tires only on cold tires.

Wear of a protector in the center

 

High pressure in the tire. With a pressure in the tire much above norm there is an intensive wear of a protector in the center of the tire, coupling of the tire with a paving decreases, the tire does not extinguish roughness of the road therefore all blows are transferred to a body and the probability of a rupture of the tire increases. Check and bring to norm pressure in tires.

In certain cases it is necessary to increase pressure in tires, in particular, at the movement at high speeds or with big loading, at the same time do not forget to bring pressure to norm at normal operation of the car.

Uneven wear

 

Tires on forward wheels can unevenly wear out from communication with not coaxiality of wheels. At the same time it is necessary to adjust the angles of installation of wheels.
