9.4. Coupling

Prevention

During the work of coupling the dust containing asbestos and unhealthy therefore do not blow off dust compressed air is formed and do not inhale it.

For coupling removal when the engine and the transmission are installed in the car, it is necessary to use special tools, however it is possible to use also independently manufactured tools. Before coupling removal attentively read this section.

The design of coupling allows to replace a clutch plate, press a disk, the release bearing and a sealing ring of the directing plug without removal of the engine or the transmission from the car.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the emergency brake, then lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports.
2. Unscrew bolts and remove a protective plate from the coupling case basis.
3. On models to the middle of 1988 unscrew a stopper (it is specified by an arrow in the drawing on the right) from a face cover of a case of the transmission.
4. On later models which do not have a stopper unscrew a nut and remove the grounding tire from a transmission end face.
5. Install the corresponding container under a cover in a transmission end face, then unscrew bolts and uncover.
6. Note an arrangement of a bolt, the fixing grounding tire.
7. Remove laying.
8. Using special flat-nose pliers, remove a lock ring from the end of an entrance shaft.
9. Using a 12-faced key (the drawing at the left), unscrew a bolt from an end face of an entrance shaft.
10. Take an entrance shaft from a clutch plate nave.
11. It is for this purpose recommended to use special tools No. KM-556-1-A and KM-556-4, but it is possible to use also the tools manufactured independently. The tool fastens to a transmission end face bolts of fastening of a cover. The sizes of the tool have to correspond to transmission type.
12. Alternatively screw in M7 bolt in an end face of an entrance shaft of the transmission (the drawing at the left) and for a bolt take a shaft to the limiter (the drawing on the right). If the entrance shaft is installed very densely in the transmission, for its extraction use the inertial hammer.
13. For removal of coupling it is necessary to move press a disk, overcoming resistance of a diaphragm spring, otherwise coupling will not take place between a flywheel and an end face of a case of coupling.
14. For this purpose it is necessary to use the special tool No. KM526-A. If necessary manufacture independently special tool of a steel strip according to the drawing. For simplification of installation of independently manufactured tool at end faces of the tool make facets. The groove at one of edges of the tool is necessary for passing of a rivet of a press disk.
15. After pressing of a pedal of coupling by the assistant establish clips on edge of a casing of a press disk, inserting disks into apertures on casing perimeter.
16. For uniform installation of clips on perimeter of a press clutch plate a wrench for a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a bent shaft turn gradually bent shaft.
17. After installation of all clips the assistant has to release a coupling pedal.
18. Gradually and consistently weaken, and then unscrew completely six bolts of fastening of the leading part of coupling to a flywheel.
19. For access to bolts of fastening of the leading part of coupling to a flywheel consistently turn a bent shaft of the engine.
20. Note the provision of the tag which is combined with a groove on a coupling case on a flywheel.
21. Moving down, take coupling knot from a coupling case. Keep in mind that the frictional disk can drop out at coupling removal.
22. Note the provision of a frictional clutch plate. The smaller ledge of a nave has to be directed to a flywheel.
23. For removal of clips fix the leading part of coupling in a vice with soft sponges (the arrow specified an arrangement of the clip established on a press clutch plate).
