11.4.2. Replacement of front brake shoes

SUPPORTS OF GMF AND EARLY MODIFICATIONS OF ATE

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Note an arrangement of the springs which are drawing in brake shoes then from the fingers holding brake shoes take pins.
2. Using a drift and the hammer, beat out fingers from a support.
3. Remove the springs which are drawing in brake shoes.
4. Remove the sensor of wear of brake shoes.
5. Take away brake shoes from a brake disk, then take an external brake shoe.
6. Take the internal brake shoe and laying located between a brake shoe and the piston of a support from a support.
7. Purify dust and dirt from a support, and a rust from edge of a brake disk. If blocks are suitable for further operation, clear them, using a wire brush and rags.
8. If new brake shoes are established, press the piston into a support a wooden core or the handle of the hammer. At the same time you watch that the piston did not warp also the surfaces of the piston and a boot were not damaged.
9. At a piston vdviganiye brake fluid is forced out from the brake cylinder in a popolnitelny tank therefore constantly watch liquid level in a tank, and if necessary pump out its small amount from a tank.
10. Check, dredging on the piston of a support is located on a vertical axis. If necessary turn the piston in the correct situation.
11. Apply a thin film of lubricant for the brake system on the top and lower end faces of the metal basis of new brake shoes.
12. Establish new brake shoes on a support, at the same time between an internal brake shoe and the piston establish laying. If in a set of brake shoes on two blocks there are white color tags, establish these blocks to the piston.
13. Check that brake shoes freely move in a support.
14. Establish the springs which are drawing in blocks.
15. From outer side of a support implant fingers, pressing the springs which are drawing in blocks. Using the hammer, hammer fingers against the stop into a support.
16. Similarly replace brake shoes on the second wheel.
17. Establish wheels and lower the car on the earth.
18. Tighten fastening bolts the required moment.
19. Several times press a brake pedal that brake shoes nestled on a brake disk.
20. Check the level of brake fluid in a tank.
21. After installation of new brake shoes avoid sharp braking during the first 200 km of a run of the car.

ATE SUPPORTS (LATE MODIFICATIONS)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. In the presence remove the wear sensor from an internal brake shoe and move it aside.
2. Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, from the outer side of a support remove the fixing spring.
3. Remove dustproof caps from the internal ends of the directing bolts.
4. Unscrew the directing support bolts, lift a support with an internal block and, using a soft wire, tie up it to a forward rack.
5. Remove an internal block from the support piston.
6. Remove an external block from the holder of a support.
7. Purify dust and dirt from a support, and a rust from edge of a brake disk. Ate blocks are suitable for further operation, clear them, using a wire brush and rags.
8. If new brake shoes are established, press the piston into a support a wooden core or the handle of the hammer. At the same time you watch that the piston did not warp also the surfaces of the piston and a boot were not damaged.

14. Establish dustproof caps on the directing support bolts.
15. Install the sensor of wear of brake shoes.
16. Similarly replace brake shoes on the second wheel.
17. Establish wheels and lower the car on the earth.
18. Tighten fastening bolts the required moment.
19. Several times press a brake pedal that brake shoes nestled on a brake disk.
20. Check the level of brake fluid in a tank.
