8.2.3.3. Repair of the distributor of ignition

MODELS 1,3 AND 1,4 WITH THE CARBURETTOR

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the ignition distributor from the engine.
2. Unscrew two screws and remove a distributor rotor.
3. Disconnect two electric sockets located from two parties of the block of ignition.
4. Unscrew two screws and remove the ignition block from the ignition distributor.
5. Unscrew two screws fixing the vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition and remove the regulator, at the same time disconnect draft of the regulator.
6. Further dismantling of the distributor of ignition is not recommended.
7. Check a condition of a cover of the distributor of ignition for existence of corrosion and an obgoraniye of electrodes.
8. Check smoothness of movement of coal contact in the center of a cover.
9. Check a condition of a rotor of the distributor of ignition and, if necessary, replace it.
10. Check that during creation of vacuum in the vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition draft of the regulator moves.
11. Check shaft side play size in the ignition distributor case.
12. Check smoothness of movement of small weights of the centrifugal regulator of an advancing of ignition.
13. Assembly is made in the sequence, the return dismantling.
14. Apply several drops of engine oil on points of turn of small weights of the centrifugal regulator of an advancing of ignition.
15. At installation of the new block of ignition apply a thin film of heat-conducting lubricant on the back surface of the block.
16. Install the ignition distributor on the engine.

MODELS OF 1,6 L (16 SH) AND 1,8 L (18 E)

1 – vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition,
2 – case,
3 – bracket of fastening of a cover,

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the ignition distributor.
2. Remove a rotor of the distributor and the spark extinguishing screen.
3. Though the top basic plate can be removed, but it does not make sense as spare parts to the distributor of ignition are absent on sale, and no adjustments are required.
4. If necessary replace the vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition.
5. Unscrew two screws of fastening of the regulator, disconnect draft of the regulator from a basic plate.
6. Remove the vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition.
7. Check that during creation of vacuum in the vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition draft of the regulator moves.
8. Check a condition of a cover of the distributor of ignition for existence of corrosion and an obgoraniye of electrodes.
9. Check smoothness of movement of coal contact in the center of a cover.
10. Check a condition of a rotor of the distributor of ignition and, if necessary, replace it.
11. Assembly of the distributor of ignition is made in the sequence, the return dismantling.
12. Check correctness of an arrangement of draft of the vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition on a basic plate.
13. Install the ignition distributor.

MODELS OF 1,6 L (16 SV) WITH THE CARBURETTOR I MODELS 1,4, 1,6 AND 2,0 WITH 8 VALVES WITH SYSTEM OF INJECTION OF FUEL

Repair of the distributor of ignition needs to be made at Opel service station.

MODELS OF 1,8 L (18 SE)
