4.2.6.2. Installation of a gear belt

ENGINES OF 1,4 L SINCE JUNE, 1990 AND 1,6 L (16 SV I C16 OF NZ)

Combination of a tag on a pulley of the camshaft and a cover of a head of the block of cylinders and tags on a pulley of a bent shaft with a flute in the case of the oil pump on engines 1,4 and 1,6 (16 SV and C16 NZ)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish a new gear belt, without moving pulleys of cranked and distributive shaft. Turning the water pump, previously pull a gear belt. Check that adjusting tags on pulleys of cranked and distributive shaft are combined with indexes.
2. Establish a pulley of a bent shaft of an auxiliary driving belt and fix it by bolts. Then take the core blocking the automatic mechanism of a tension of a gear belt.
3. Turning the water pump, establish a tension of a gear belt so that the lever of the automatic mechanism of a tension and opening in the support plate were combined. At the same time the mechanism of a tension will move clockwise. In this situation tighten bolts of fastening of the water pump the required moment.
4. Turn a bent shaft of the engine on two whole revolutions clockwise and check that adjusting tags on pulleys of cranked and distributive shaft were combined with indexes.
5. Weaken bolts of fastening of the water pump and turn the pump counterclockwise until the lever of the automatic mechanism of a tension is not installed in the center of a tag of a basic plate. In this situation tighten bolts of fastening of the water pump the required moment (1 – the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt, 2 – a basic plate, 3 – an opening for blocking).
6. Repeatedly turn a bent shaft of the engine on two whole revolutions clockwise and check that adjusting tags of pulleys of cranked and distributive shaft were combined with indexes, and also check that the tag of a basic plate is correctly combined with the tension mechanism lever. Otherwise repeat adjustment of a tension of a gear belt.
7. After adjustment of a tension of a gear belt unscrew a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a bent shaft.
8. Install on the engine all earlier removed elements in the sequence, the return to removal. Adjust a tension of an auxiliary driving belt and fill in cooling liquid in the cooling system.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish a new gear belt, without moving pulleys of cranked and distributive shaft. Turning the water pump, make a preliminary tension of a gear belt.
2. Establish a pulley of a bent shaft and check that tags on pulleys of cranked and distributive shaft are combined with indexes. Otherwise weaken a tension of a gear belt and correctly establish pulleys. Apply the means interfering unscrewing of a bolt on a carving of a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a bent shaft and tighten a bolt the required moment.
3. For adjustment of a tension of a gear belt it is necessary to use the special KM510-A device.
4. Turn a bent shaft of the engine at least on a half of a turn clockwise. Install the device on the sagging branch of a gear belt over the generator and release it. Read instrument readings and compare them to data in technical characteristics.
5. If necessary, moving the water pump, adjust a tension of a gear belt. Turn a bent shaft of the engine on one whole revolution and repeatedly measure a tension of a gear belt.
6. In the absence of the device for measurement of a tension of a gear belt it is approximately possible to define a belt tension, turning a belt in the middle of a branch between the water pump and a pulley of the camshaft. The belt has to turn only on 90 ° at application of moderate effort.
7. After adjustment of a tension of a gear belt tighten bolts of fastening of the water pump the required moment. Establish and fix a casing of a gear belt.
8. Establish and adjust a tension of an auxiliary driving belt of the generator and fill in cooling liquid in the cooling system. If acted, establish a protective cover in the flywheel basis.
