4.4.18.1. Recommendations about removal of the engine
Prevention
If you decided to remove the engine for repair, then some preparations have to be made.
The paramount importance has the choice of the venue of works for providing space for service and storage of spare parts. It is desirable to do it at bus station or in a garage with an equal horizontal floor with a pure hard coating.
Before removal of the engine wash up the engine and a motor compartment. Removal of the engine requires the load-lifting mechanism allowing to lift safely the power unit.
If you remove the engine for the first time, it is necessary to invite the skilled expert. Besides, there are many cases when one person cannot perform at the same time all operations at removal of the engine.
Before making repairs of the engine, remove the following auxiliary elements:
– generator and driving belt;
– inlet and final collectors;
– gear belt;
– water pump and thermostat;
– fuel pump and arm of the pump;
– vacuum pump;
– coupling;
– fuel nozzles;
– glow plugs;
– oil filter;
– block of recirculation of final gases;
– the probe for measurement of level of oil, a tube of the probe and an arm of a cable.

Pick up the big phone of cooling liquid and the hose connecting a tube to the water pump.
