11.4.1. Check of brake shoes

Prevention

Surely you make replacement of all blocks on one axis of the car even if the limit of wear was reached by only one block. If blocks are repeatedly established, before removal they need to be marked.

During the work of brake shoes brake dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy therefore when cleaning brake shoes do not use compressed air is formed and do not inhale dust.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. In the presence take off caps of forward wheels and weaken bolts of fastening of wheels.
2. Tighten the emergency brake, then lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports.
3. Remove wheels.
4. Turn a steering wheel to the right against the stop and check thickness and a condition of overlays of brake shoes of the right brake.
5. Turn a steering wheel to the left against the stop and check thickness and a condition of overlays of brake shoes of the left brake.
6. Even if the limit of wear was reached by only one brake shoe, replace all front brake shoes in a set.
